raisin happens ...

So Alicia left my place this morning and I get a message online from her mom telling me Alicia was in an accident on the turnpike ... I freaked and took off down 95 at 105mi/hr trying to find her. I get there, flashing my lights to get people to move and finally made it .. way quicker than I thought I would. Thank god everyone was alright. Only 2 cars involved and just some glass removal from the other guy and a bruised knee later, everyone was back home. Just one more reminder to not take for granted all the great people you have in your life, as they could be gone in an instant. :sad5:

So her car is totaled ... anything for sale in the sub-$7k range?

p.s. I got a check engine light while traveling at warp speed, which went away a bit later. Any typical warp speed CELs that show up? Or should I have it checked?

Glad she's ok....

Repeating one of the comments from last October: Cars are replaceable, people are not... :sad5:

Thanks guys, probably was stupid of me to drive that fast .. but I was freaking out and worried .. at least I made it alright.

Not to be a dink, but you're lucky at 105 that you too didnt get in an accident because at that speed you'd probably not faired as well as she did. If the news of her accident made you feel that way, i'm sure the reciprocated feeling she would had would have been equally powerful. Just keep that in mind man, you dont want to leave her or this world in an untimely manner! :occasion14:

Anyway the red 1998 is in my garage still. 4grand and it's yours :confused2:

Yeah, I did my best to keep my distance and be in control. I didn't know what happened except that it was a "really bad accident" and she couldn't "get out of my car". Of course, I assumed the worst. It was probably :tard: of me, but no rescue vehicles even showed up for a good while after I got there, so if I needed to bring her somewhere, I would have been there sooner. Just glad everyone/thing was okay.

Also she's looking for something ~60k miles or less. Doesn't have to be a Subaru .. I'm just helping her parents search at this point.

when i got the call about my grandfather, I booked it up 295 at a rapid pace :dontknow: I didn't think, I just went. I really have no clue how fast I was going(never looked at the speedo) but i got there in less time than normal, he passed 15min or so after I got there.

Whatever flack ya wanna give on the speeding, I'm not in any way sorry for doing it. I may not have made it in time otherwise. I'm sure spin had the same sort of feelings going on.

Hey - I just got from Yarmouth to Boston in 1:15 two weeks ago when my mom was on a life flight chopper...easy to say "don't speed," but there are some situations that call for it.

Glad to hear that everything is ok. That raisin is freaky!

There is a VW Rabbit? GTI?! for sale outside my local autozone (Congress and stevens). No idea what they're asking, but might be worth a look.

Exactly ... thank you for understanding .. I was being as safe as possible .. but I didn't know how bad it was .. just had an earful of screaming and hearing how she couldn't get out of the car.
