Ranting...

Finally got the Neon all put back together, go out for a drive to see if the clunk is gone...all is well. Hurray!

Get back to the house, 10 minutes later, big puddle under the car. Inspect further, right rear strut blew out.

had a similar experience yesterdaywith the F-250

replaced front brake flex lines, some rusty resistance but not bad on a 1994 vehicle.

brakes bled no sweat, nice hard pedal

hooked up truck to boat, headed for the lake, first corner brakes went to floor

fortunately it was not far from home,

one of the hard lines split near the flex hose jct....replacing hard lines is a MUCH bigger job!

that's the problem with them old trucks and Maine. (I have an '89 Chevy One-ton) Factor in 200% extra of whatever brake work you intend on doing... It seems no matter how careful you are, once you start messing with them, they all decide to leak... At least, that's been my experience.

the brakes on my dad's 98 chevy died a while ago going about 50 on twisty back roads... that was exciting..

yeah, navigating the big truck towing a 20-foot boat with e-brake only took some serious pre-planning for stopping, turning around then getting back into the driveway!

HAH, I bet.

At least my dad's truck is a manual, which helps a bit... and not towing anything helped
