Tried to get a sticker on my wife's 01 Outback today. The shop that looked at it didn't want to sticker it because it has the usual exhaust flange leaks.
Since I didn't want to buy a new exhaust (both flanges were pretty much gone) I headed to Advanced to find something to rig it to get it passed inspection. While I was there the normal desk guy told me that a mechanic named Ray Goslin (hope I got that spelling right) had a shop over in Bomarc Industrial and he did good work and specialized in Subarus.
I called Ray on the way home. He immediately told me he would weld my exhaust up for me, no questions asked. Then without further hesitation he told me to bring it right over and he would take care of it right now. We agreed on a price, which I felt was more than fair, and I drove over. As I pulled into the parking lot he opened the garage door and waved me into the shop. The car was on the lift before I had a chance to introduce myself. Ray quickly confirmed he could do the work for the price quoted and told me when to come back.
Not only did Ray take care of me, he did it at a fair price. My jaw dropped when he told me to come right over he would take care of it. He is a one man shop and he seems to really know his stuff! He also had an EJ22 sitting in the bay and all kinds of other random Suby parts kicking around, which always makes me trust a mechanic more, I don't know why...
Anyway I would recommend Ray Goslin (could be Gosling) in Bomarc Industrial Park #207-478-2989. When you go in you drive almost to the end and he is in the buildings on the right with the old Bomarc sign. You'll see all the Subys kicking around.
