for newer car owners, financing half of it for an automobile, it is probably justice to get a decent response from insurance companies in such an event as hit and run, vandals etc..
Recently my 1987 was hit in the rear, after just completing it.the other driver took off. The coincidence is paranormal. I mean just finished, just waxed...
If I am not saved by usps surveillance cameras, as the accident happened in front of at least a hundred witnesses, rush hour, post office open...well, I could eat the bill. all work, all materials. Not many put full coverage on a paid vehicle, it is one of the benefits. something to ponder when it is "paid for". I learned of the full coverage insurance and an appraiser comes to look at the car, my conversation specifically stated "I do not have a normal subaru, please ignore that godforsaken KBB value."
it was understood.
something to talk about, I never thought I would. I did find 3 more structural errors in the 87 as a result of this accident, (they simply overlapped structures..no weld..OMG) and it is way beyond the norm as a repair, the whole car is beyond a double in the major structures, and then the panels.
as in "overdone", except the dual range is never overdone. I think it would strain a .25 inch spring steel belly pan (j/k - but it is extreme, and needed the extreme welds and body)
my question for sube modders is about the appraisal and full coverage, does it go easy? do insurance companies really care if a car is THAT beyond normal?
