Reliable car for around $1200

my 97 brighton, $1000 as is, needs a cv shaft and a windshield. has a knock sensoe code, but it doesn't affect driveability

my g/f is going to be selling her 98 impreza sedan for $1500. hopefully will be inspected saturday after a brake line is replaced. high miles but runs great and has never let us down or needed anything but maintainence in 3 years.

Even if the knock sensor is bad, you can get one for like 60-70 bucks

Are those knock sensors the same as the newer cars? I have an extra one from an sti.

Yeah most likely not, the sensor itself might work, but the plug will be completely different

I called him and the only thing that's wrong with it is the spark plug hole stripped out kinda like 987687. Whats involved in fixing that? It seems like a good deal.

yup.

and yeah, the plugs on knock sensors changed over the years but its still just the same 1 wire setup if you want to rig something together.

make sure that legacy is AWD. not all subies were until '99.

Know a few people with those. Check the frame, make sure there is no bad rust. Otherwise, they a reliable and durable.

Can get a kit like Jason said, or you can be lame like me and pay someone to fix it. Cost about $80 I think. And I didn't even pay to have it towed because he crashed it getting it off the tow truck

don't know i drove by a line of cars yesterday and that was one and it had tha price on the windshield it a 93-96 body style and purpleish in color
