Replacing rear sunroof glass in 2005 LGT wagon?

Discovered last night that the rear glass in my LGT sunroof has a nice crack in it about two feet long. Grrrrrr!

So a replacement seems to be about $250 online. The question is how big of a pain in the butt is it to replace just the glass? Anyone have instructions on what is involved?

If it's anything like the sunroof in a sedan (which it probably is). It's a really big royal pain in the rear. At least getting the headliner out of a wagon is a lot easier compared to a sedan, just load it out the tailgate.

So sitting in the car waiting for a 5 pm appointment and was looking at the sunroof. It looks like this is simply a matter of popping off the two plastic covers directly above the edge of the opening in the headliner and there are four nuts that hold the glass in place. No need to pull out the headliner at all. Am I missing something here? Other than don't screw up the shims between the glass and said nuts.

The glass should be held in like you said. Just make sure it's all lined up when you're done or it'll bind.

Hmmm, when I was looking at the glass when I had mine apart it looked much worse... if it's that easy I'll swap my original tinted one back in...

Yes Tim, 05-09, two pieces of plastic, 4 torx ( I think) screws and its off. Yes, make a mental note of shims before disassembly. I usually have to kick the rear of the glass up an smidgen and the front down a smidgen when making the final cinch so it will drop down correctly
