Replacing Y-Pipe

So, the whole intake section of my 22t swap is a bit ... ghettofabulous. I have a strong feeling my drivability issues are due to leaks in the intake (likely both charged and uncharged, before and after MAF. What I'm going to do is get a silicone Y-pipe section for the intercooler, which I will then have to cut and extend about 2" or so. I'm basically running a stock WRX turbo/intercooler for now (td04 - like out of a bugeye).

I've found this kit here, which I think will work fine. Before I jump the gun, however ... is there any advice or other ideas out there?

Also, I was hoping to stay cheap for the fact that I'm not POSITIVE that this is the problem. My goal is to stay cheap until I get it running the way I want it, then to start buying higher quality parts.

Do you need just the silicone section?? If so, maybe look online for a place that will sell one to fit, but comes longer than the stock one is. I had to get a longer intercooler elbow to run the STi intercooler on my XT, and that's what I did.

No, I have a hacked up version of the stock plastic one, so I need the whole thing. Good to know they sell longer ones tho; thanks.

Yeah, that's what I ordered ... just from a different seller. Thanks for the input tho!
