RS tranny

katnip

the car is black. I swear
so it appears I polished off the front diff in the rally car. so 2000 RS Sedan 5spd tranny needed. see one somewhere let me know, I don't want to rebuild one, just bolt it in. thx

I know of a trans you could buy for $6,000. It comes attached to a free RS. I think you might know a little something about it;)http://www.mainelysubarus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8395

Kat find a Forester trans, the 5MT has same ratios and diffs as the RS, w/4.11 final drive.

MUcho cheapa and easier to source than typical overpriced RS bits

having recently researched this topic, i would like to expand on Nigels thought.

only manual NON-Turbo models.

ALL other models including the turbo manuals used a 4.44

well then find a wrecked Foz XT and scavenge whole drivetrain, they have a viscous rear LSD ya know

this would give you a super setup for the 2.5 N/A rally car, essentially similar to the 4.44 rig we were running in Tulip 1.

But if you do that Nigel, it will no longer be PGT..... hehe Of course, Open Light isn't a bad thing..

she will be open light. silly to run PGT w/NA car, though he did trophy with all the turbos in PGT:spinmastert:

OK, random question here:

If Al has determined that it is indeed the diff that has gone bad, why not pull the diff out of the spare tranny you have (which had a blown second gear from Rallye St Agathe-Defi a couple of years ago IIRC) and put it into the tranny that is in the car?

Is Al that much against pulling apart trannies?
