On the way to work this morning he stopped his car for a pedestrian at a walk by the courthouse in Springvale and got rear ended by a 1 ton dually. He`s O.K. and the car was drivable so we stopped at the Insurance agents place and then dropped it off at Cabanas.

Needless to say he`s quite upset the car is only 1 month old

I had bad drivers (obviously the driver behind him, not your son...).

That guy should be entitled to pay for whatever your son's insurance doesn't pay for

In all seriousness get him to stretch every muscle tonight. Hot tub or massage and drink a ton of water as well. The tightness starts the day after and can be quite debilitating.

He had his insurance agent report and put a claim directly with the other guys insurance co. Progressive.There is no question about who`s at fault. Your deductable only applies if your ins co. pays. He also wants them to pay for a rental until he gets his car back.

 
Wow, that's crappy luck. Glad he is ok! I was almost hit today, and it's nerve wracking! +1 to the stretching and fluids.

almost joined the "I got whacked today" thread myself...rolled up to T jct near my house and stopped. car coming down the hill going like hell, female in SUV chatting on cell phone turned in front of me, missing the oncoming car by close enough so the guy coming downhill locked em up. she didn't miss me by much, either, and I was just sitting there!

it was one of these things where a couple seconds either way meant "close but no cigar" or "oh ****, call 911."

simiple plea...Can we all just PAY ATTENTION out there??!!

My son spoke to the Progessives adjustor this morning and will be picking up a rental paid by them tomorrow morning. This is good because Cabanas autobody said getting auto body parts nowadays is taking longer because of all the upheval in the auto industry.

 
wow that sucks. this happened to me twice when I bought brand new cars. a new car is like a magnet for dumb drivers.

+1, i came close getting hit few months back when some lady wasn't paying attention to the traffic light, she came close running a Bright RED light..... sorry about your kids car man....

 
They should also be sending him a check for any pain he may have, they usually do I got one when I got rear ended, never asked for it it just appeared like $500 they don't want you to sue but if you sign that's it no more for you(fine print on check).

it's not always that way.I am nearing 2 years on mine and I haven't seen a dime of medical reimbursment, let alone a check to shut me up.

 
Sorry to hear Rob. Glad your son is ok. People complain about spirited driving yet the biggest cause of accidents are people NOT paying attention and/or talking on the dam cell phone.
