I pulled up to a stop sign today, did my regular take off, all the sudden the car starts lurching violantly, tach is jumping between 800-2500. I almost smashed my head off the steering wheel, checked to make sure I wa in 1st and I was. I had to rev it to almost 4k and slam it into 2nd and things mellowed out. Next stop sign it does the same thing. Drive about 7 miles with out stopping, car rides fine goes through all the high gears no problem. Come up to a stop light expecting the same thing and it launches fine. When I did the top emd rebuilt I dropped a slightly used exedy Clutch in. About 2k on it Since. Could there be something wrong with the car or did I just severly screw up driving?

i might check that your cam positioning sensor is in and working properly. my rs bucked like that when it was not bolted in properly.

DC, sounds like your car needs a thorough going-over by a skilled Suby tech. Your poor car has been so worked over recently, who knows just what gremlins are lurking from repairs after deer hit, etc.

prob you described does NOT sound like a clutch issue. cam positing sensor, throttle position sensor, intake idle control, vac leaks or spooks could be the prob
