Stalling at idle

Chris

YARRR SUBY MONSTER!!
So today I've been driving the legacy. When it's warm sometimes (like 10% of the time) it will stall at idle. It pulls fine, runs great, starts easy, but stalls.

It happens after driving. I'll push in the clutch to coast down a hill, stop at a stop sign, etc and it will just die. It doesn't even idle at all, goes from running rpm and drops to 0 as fast as if I turned off the key.

I don't have a CEL, and as I said before, runs great. No hesitation or anything at all.

heh. check out my thread "car turns off randomly whilst driving"

sounds EXACTLY the same.

Yeah, I said it once, I'll say it again. MAF ... or adjust the idle screw. Does it always idle low, or just sometimes?

It never idles low. 90% of the time it will just idle right at 700 RPMs (by my scangauge, so I know it's correct). When it stalls it doesn't idle low, it doesn't shake like engines do when idling to low, it just shuts right off.

It's junk, sell it to me for 500 bucks.......solved problem!!
mmhmm

I'll throw in a spare MAF tonight and see how it drives tomorrow.

It happened again with my spare MAF. I was driving along and the engine just stopped running and wouldn't restart. So I pulled over, nothing seemed wrong, but no start. I checked for ignition, and no spark. So I checked my scangauge2 and it said there was a code for the crank angle sensor position. I happened to have a spare one in my car with me, so I threw it on and all good!
