I picked up a complete steering rack, with lines, pump, resevior, and tie rods from a 2002 wrx.

What do I need to make it work in my 97 OBS?

just use inner and outer tie rods made for the 97 to get proper track width? or can I adjust the wrx ones to work right?

 
rex pump and reservoir won't help you one bit, they are totally diffrent

WRX rack itself should be good, just compare 'new' rack and the OBS rack to make sure lines will connex up OK

tie rods should work out fine, you're right, they're veddy adchoostable
