Sti 5 speed

whats the final drive ratio? any particular reason you chose this trans, your fxt trans is as strong or stronger then a jdm 5mt

the final drive is 4:11 this is basically a quick fix until I can afford a 6 speed

That transmission you are buying is from a ver6 WRX.... probably not stronger than a rs or wrx gearbox by much..

Thanks man I was going by what I was being told on other forums, usually I do my research.
Do you guys think $900 for the trans and rear diff is to much?

Should I keep shopping around for a better transmission? I really can't afford a 6 speed right now

 
that's too much. you can buy another fxt trans for that and keep the 4.44 ratio and not swap diffs.

 
you could buy 2 USDM gear boxes for the price of that. If you are using this trans until you save for the 6spd why not get a wrx/forester trans and baby it? They really aren't that bad or fragile, if you are pushing less than 300-350hp or tq
