STi cat/axleback on Forester?

4WRXter

Skier!
Does anyone know what is involved to put an STi exhaust on a Forester XT? I'm thinking of trying to pick one up for our Foz. I like the sound of mine on the RS, and think it would be a good compliment to the XT.

I will bolt on as-is with a bit longer hangers, Redforester08 just did this, it looks great. I'm sure he'll chime in on this too.

Yup just a bolt on for the Turbo guys from the cat back. You will just need 2 Kartboy XL Hangers. The hanger just behind the muffler does not line up but it holds togehter just fine most guys just leave it out. If ya got a welder it is real easy the make it work. For us N/A Foresters in which the mid pipe does not work. I just used the axleback and the XL hangers. This weekend I'm going to add a spacer at the flange to make it stick out a little more. Just something I made at work. But I'm having NO problems the way it is now. With the Catback from the STI on your XT it will be about 2 inches further out than the picture below. Which is PERFECT.

Thanks for the info fellers.

It looks like I am watching RS25, NASIOC, SF.ORG, EBAY, et al for a STi catback. Gotta get them durn springs on too. And alignment.

I'm all over that!!!!!

Thanks Brighton. I must have missed that one yesterday :tard:

Oh, RedForester: Do you have any vibration from the stiffer Kartboy hangers? Shorty said he knows of a few cases of that.

Well, at least used STi bling. Hopefully its in good condition.

Next question: Can I paint the muffler with hi-temp paint if it needs to be dressed up?

Lobstah helped me put the Swift springs on yesterday. Initial 2hr drive home impression is
