SUBARU DRAMA

I Recently purchased a 2005 Subaru Impreza RS 2.5 at Evergreen Subaru. I also purchased a 07 Sti Rollover as a parts vehicle for a full RS to RSTi swap. My plan was to sell the N/A 2.5 to pay for my Sti tranny which was already sold from my parts car before i got to it. The stock RS motor had 43000 on it when i purchased it and at 45,000 it spun a crank bearing:rant:. In the end though it turned out good cause i went down to evergreen and its still under subarus factory warranty.

So they are going to get me a new short block. Things are never as simple as you plan, even in a Subaru.

wow, good that EG is taken care of you. You should have gone with a 2000 2.5 RS. They are the hotness with a sti swap. So hot want to touch the haniee.

that 07 STI rollover is Bad JuJu. You need to get rid of it immediately. I know someone who would be VERRRRY interested. ;>P

yaaay to EG for helping you out of subie drama.

heh, if you want more drama, wait'll you get to wrench, engineer, wire and de-bug a full swap on late model subie! Here's hoping you really know your stuff.

Welcome man. Ive seen you cruising around the Lewiston/Auburn area in your new red RS. Easy to spot a member heres former ride.

Good luck on your swap!

The whole reason i bought a 2.5 rs not a wrx or sti is because i specialize in building power and simply would not be proud or able to call it my Build/Tune otherwise. I am not new to the import motor swap game, Been doing it professionally on Honda's, and Nissan' for the better half of my adult life. The most technical being A Nissan RB26DETT into a 1990 240sx, and Honda J series V6 into a 93 civic. This is my first subie build but i guarantee ive seen similar bugs with other swaps. I am well outfitted here at Leader of the pack performance and the car and build/Tune will speak for itself. O and nice try at the whole JuJu thing but i went through hell to get my hands on this doner car. I will post pics of the build to keep you updated.

well, it was a nice try!

nothing ventured nothing gained.

have fun building your Scooby, sounds like you will have no probs (or at least not probs you can't figure out)!!

if u have questions, there's a lot of hard-won experience here and we don't hack on ppl like over to nabisc*

Wow you spun a bearing??? All was well and oil always changed when I had it.

Welcome! sounds like it's going to be a fun project! That's for sure!

One question though, are you going to use aftermarket EM for it? Because The STi has disabler with the ECU. I've heard they're a real pain to swap into any other car.
