Subaru powered FLYING car

interesting.

I did notice the double fire is removed.. I had to do a double take to verify it was not an ea series engine by the sound.

must have cut back to make it more bulletproof.

these people are gonna have a blast with the "fb" series stuff.

Can you stop talking raisin about ej engines? thanks.

ea engines are great and all, but there's a time to move on. Hell, even I'm swapping out an 81 for an ej22.

I don't care if you want to live in your ea paradise, but keep the rest of us out of it.

Back on topic. I'd take that car without the "fly" switch. Looks fun as hell for offroad!!

not safe to assume. Although if you would like to whip out an encyclopedia full of ej facts, you can expect to go home embarassed.

can you make your legacy fly?

double fires in the sky in unknown atmosphere... just what an aviator does not need. The one in vid sounded very tightly disciplined...exhaust that close to an exit can't just fire on open exhaust valves.

think...and quit being a jerk.

You may both want to read up on Maxwell Power built EJ 2.35l aircraft motors. A couple guys (big over on NASIOC) have building bulletproof Subaru motors for aircraft for a long while. Seeing that engine failure in the sky can be detrimental, these guys put together some of the BEST Subaru motors out there. They start with a EJ205 motor, add custom pistons to get the 2.35l displacement, and different crank. You are looking at a motor boasting the best characteristics of the 2.0l, and the 2.5l. Its high revving like the 2.0, and has torque like the 2.5l. Look at it this way. Most guys break that motor in on a rotated GT30r turbo...

Heres a (crappy) little video of a Maxwell Power built car. Watch the real 9k rpm redline, and the speedo jump out of sight in a hurry

I like the buggy type chassis. Def needs taller tires. $80k ouch. But I bet there will be a few dozen folks who get one. The sail wing and attachments must be half the cost. I'd have to hire Rad to fly for me if I ever had one. I'd be too scared to fly myself.
