Sway Bar Questions

A few of them...

First, if a sway bar fits a 93-01 impreza, but in the future i do a rear diff/axle swap this does not affect what sways should fit the car right?

Can anyone comment on two specific brands for me? I know whiteline is a favorite, from what i gather this is especially due to how light the components are (as well as quality). Can anyone speak for rallitek products? i know they are a good company, i'm wondering because specifically i've been looking at a set one of our own vendors sells: http://www.subimods.com/rallitek-full-sway-bar-kit-for-impreza-93--07.html?sitenameid=fa0a7347322ca83d5773b3742d3177f2

versus a whiteline package i've been quoted at 529 for, which includes the same components.

will there be a noticeable difference between the two? especially given the $200 price difference. i don't mind spending the extra 200, i feel like it's an important purchase and i want to do things right.

we have used whiteline endlinks on several diffrent rally cars and had nothing but good experience despite repeated attempts to pretzel em. in fact, one same set of whiteline endlinks started on an LDR GC race car, then went to my silver GC coupe, then to another GC race car, then on to my bugeye wag, then onto rezpunk's GC, and those same endlinks are probably at this very minute hooning around out in the boonies with that car's new owner. did I mention zero failures.

dunno about rallitek, no experience with their gear.

So the whiteline comes with f/r sways and end links. No mounting hardware like the rallitek. Can anyone tell me how big of a difference this may make? How about the fact that the rallitek comes with no front endlinks?

we just re-used stock sway brackets, the new bushings fit into em fine. upgrading sways is a simple job, don't over-complicate it.

heh. not trying to over-complicate, just trying to do things right the first time around.

I really like how Perrin front endlinks and a Perrin 22mm front sway has made my front end feel. Both are decently priced as well.

with bigger bars you are likely to break the stock endlinks eventually. So they are a good investment, but I don't think they (the endlink specificaly) signifigantly change the feel of the car.. I went with the Whiteline standard version vs. the heavy duty basicly on the advise of Nigel and I couldn't find a good reason to justify twice the price.

I know in the 02+ wrx's the rear sway bar mount is heavier duty than the Impreza, but they still make a ultra heavy duty mount for really big bars. The front bar is mounted right to the front frame rails so there isn't anything to change there.

I like the Whiteline bars I have, but I had to go with them because they are the only company making a front sway for the wagon. Unless you hear that the RalliTEK stuff is badly made or designed, I would find it hard to justify the extra $200 for Whiteline. It's a simple torsion spring, not much too it that can go wrong. Except that I would recomend a set of front endlinks as well, just to be safe.

Ive had good luck with Hotchkis bars which are Cobb bars painted red, actually Cobb bars are really Hotchkis bars painted blue. I like that they are light and look really big( you can have both because they are hollow).

weird, because i found someone selling a hotchkis front and a whilteline rear so i'm picking those up this week.
