Thanks Lobstah!

Did the DP and UP install on my OBXT yesterday. Ran into a few snags that added to the fun (o2 sensor fused into DP bung - cut apart by Lobstah's brother, DP bracket bolt sheared off - drilled out using several drill bits). Everything worked out thanks to Lobstah's determination, a beer run, a visit to NAPA, some Arby's, more of Lobstah's determination, and another beer run. No leaks and just some burning from the new heat wrap on the UP (came that way). Flashed Stage 2 and she's running fine.

To Lobstah!

He also helped me put my up/dp in my WRX. He's a HUGE help and definitely knows his stuff!

How's it running with the new parts?

Yeah DPs are a real big PITA frequently. He's got the experience and intestinal fortitude to get it all right in the end. I really hate it when the O2s seize up in the bungs or a flange stud snaps. Its a real ***** but worthwhile in the end.

An Outback with a downpipe!! SHHHaaaaWWWEEEEET!

The UP is worse!

The bung snapped right off the DP (bad weld?) and the sensor was fused into it. We tried everything to get the sensor out, but finally ended up cutting the bung in half using a dremel.

bravo. post pics when you get a chance
Didn't take pics during the install, so not much to see except maybe the DP and highly custom heat shield (thanks to Lobstah's brother).

Glad to see it all came out well. A stage to outback is very cool.

Sorry I didnt end up selling you my catless up pipe. I just for some reason think its a good idea for me to hold on to stock parts for now. I wouldnt have had such a hard time if the up pipe i replace it with wasnt set up for external wastegate. Not to mention that if I ever decide I dont need it anymore, It will most likely end up on my LGT.

I'm really going for a sleeper vehicle, so I kept the stock catback. Cobb catted DP's aren't much louder than stock, and the catless UP isn't loud either. I've done the loud Subie thing before, but now stealthy and quick is my goal.
