Picked up this beast today sure many of you saw her on craigslist, its a 88 GL 4 speed 4wd with around 168K.

I will be a pro a welding by the time I have this thing done.  She is going to need a lot of rust love but I am going to do my best to bring this car back to life.  Was thinking of doing a 1.8l turbo swap with it if I have the money in time before the motor is sold.  Also going to lift it and get a safari rack for it.  Once this is done I will possibly be lowering the rs or at least put it back to stock.

Awesome! I really wanted to buy that but I couldn't really justify it. Glad someone here bought it so I can keep regretting not getting it myself haha.

Sorry no doors. And you'll have a hard time finding those. Brat and hatches have the same doors, but you have to swap the glass.

 
Dang, I sent my Brat to the crusher a few weeks ago and that rusty pos actually had some pretty nice solid doors on it.

 
Are you going for a winter beater or just all around off road buggy? Either way I'm glad this car stayed in the club, can't wait to see the build!

might have a parts car sourced for this with solid doors but a little rusty, hope they will clean up nice also has spar motor and parts for $350

 
My brother bought one of these from chips subaru back in 1995 with only 37k on it. It was an awesome car

Picked this up today for parts and it almost killed me on the way home . Will have parts for sale also

 
That would be sick don't think I'm going to go that high but it will be lifted

Turbone's old hatch from USMB. The new owner is the guy I was supposed to get my new car from. That has a transfer case and everything.

Nice parts brat! Doors good? 

 
Yea there not show room condition but much better then what's on the gl .so how good is the 4wd in these, seem to only hear great things about them

Pretty good. You have the 4 spd dual range which isn't as strong, and has really sloppy shift linkage, but it works well. What do you have planned for a lift?
