The price of oil (to do an oil change)...

So I stop at WalBag to pick up 2 5-qt jugs of oil so I can change the oil in the Foz & Brokeback... due to our LOW mileage I do about 2 oil changes per year per car. So I go in and i see that:

Mobil 1 SuperSyn is now $26/jug

Castrol Syntec is now $25.50/jug

Quite a price hike from the last oil change I did in March! Mobil 1 used to be $21 and Castrol was $19. Now the Castrol Blend is $19.

aww quit yer whinin!

A month or so ago I had my home oil tank filled, 200 gals at $3.93 = $786. compared to oil prices earlier this summer, I thought this was a fairly good deal.

but Nooooooo!.....

My g/f just bought same product from same company ...for $3.29 :angry4:

the price diff would have paid for 2 new struts on my project RS :puke:.

Yeah... well... don't feel so bad about your oil purchase. I topped off my oil tank expecting prices to go up because it's getting colder... 100 gallons @ $3.24/gal. Now it's $2.39/gal...

$2.39/gal ??!!!

where is yer oil co, I'm gonna rent a tanker truck, fill up at your oil co and make some $$$ selling oil up here in the Midcoast!

I filled up the foz at $2.73/gal. Nice! Actually filled the tank for less than $30 as I was just slightly above 1/4 tank.

my wife and i are on a buget plan with downeast energy and we go stuck with $4.25 as the max so we have to pay $295 a mouth from july to april 09 and then we will of over paid so much that i do not think we will have to pay next year

Locked in a $4.80! But we get lowest price, and then just get a surplus at the end of the year. I too expect a VERY VERY small bill the year after this! WOO HOO!

I decided to forgo the lock in plan this year and started throwing $300/mo in a high yield savings account instead. I have not put oil in my tank yet, going to do that in a week or two. and forget downeast, I think we're going to change getting charged a buck something every month to be on willcall, WTF is that!? plus they've got some of the highest oil prices in the area too. think we're going to change to royaloil hearing good things about them

If you're winging it and just ordering it when you need it... watch PitStop Fuels. They take a credit card too so you can use your Chase Subaru Card and get 3% back in Subaru bucks! PitStop typically has the lowest price in the Portland area. I've been using them for over a year now w/o issue.

It just keeps dropping! Saw a MerrillLynch report that said gasoline would be down to 99 cents by Feb because a barrel of oil would be trading around $25. We'll see.
