TMIC with NO SCOOP. Discuss

I'm boosting my 96 L and I sold my RS hood which means I don't have a scoop anymore.

I was originally going to go with a ebay FMIC and make my own piping but I don't want to bump anything in one of my offroad excursions.

I have half a WRX TMIC setup (core only) and I"m trying to decide if I should piece together the other stuff.

Has anyone tried a TMIC setup with no scoop?

completely pointless.

Unless you spray water on it constantly, that seems impractical.

You may want to look into an air-to-water intercooler setup. They did come on older subies and can be found for cheap.

I figured it would be.

a/w is a possibility.

Looks like it's scooptrofit (see what I did there?) or fmic for me.

Mikey... your carbon fiber sti scoop is made for what year imprezas??? I am looking hard for the sti scoop made for 02-03 wrx's because that is what fits my 2004 FXT

Driving the vehicle pulls hot air from the engine compartment to underneath the car. It creates a vacuum effect in ideal situations. Think of a GM-style cowl hood. Air beneath the vehicle pulls cool air from the low pressure area at the base of the windshield through the engine compartment. So, the idea is that while driving underhood temp is much lower than parked. I don't know if this would actually work well or not, but it would cool it off to some effect. The fan will force engine compartment air through the intercooler.
