Local pizza place here in town. Been a dedicated customer for some 20yrs now.
Teh GF moved into town a few months ago, and I helped her get a job there a little over a month ago. Everyone loved her, and all the managers and the owners said she's one of the best employees they've had, save for one manager. Dont really know what his problem was either, he never said.
Last week, she fell and fractured her ankle, on the way to work no less. Calls in to let the managers know, and to update her situation over the next couple days, and they all say the same thing. "Talk to this manager, coordinate with him when you can come back to work". Well, she goes to see said manager (happened to be the same that didn't like her) to get back to work, and he fires her. Says she missed too much.
So, she's devastated for losing the job over an accident, and after all the other managers and the co-owner said "just rest and come back in a week or so". The whole thing smells of BS.
But anyway, I digress, as I really should have no involvement in it. I do have a bit of a moral confict with it, should I give them my business anymore or not? But I decide again, that I should just not involve myself and let everything resolve itself.
Until tonite. Find out late my daughters aren't coming home, and I have nothing in the house to eat for just myself, so I figured I'd go get a 'zone. I go in, and everyone there, people I've known for years and was making plans to go out with as recent as last week, act like I'm not even there. Aside from that strongly alluding to some BS involved in the firing, I also felt highly disrespected considering how long I've been a customer, longer than they have even worked there.
So, until I get an apology from the owner for the way I was treated, and the way my GF was let go, looks like I'll be without the best pizza around.
C/N: GF get fired (rather shady) from pizza joint I've been a long-time customer at, go in tonite and get treated nobody. No more good pizza for EJ for a while.
