Trs Retroquick Install Help!!!

Okay so where do I begin? I just purchased the retroquick HID retrofit kit from TRS and installed it over the weekend. Something is wrong and I cant for the life of me figure it out. There are two major problems that I am seeing and Im not sure if they are related. Any help/advice that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated!!

1. After installing the retrofit my high beams (stock) are completely out of alignment. The driver side is way lower than the passenger side (this is while the low beams are in perfect vertical alignment.)

2. The low beams seem to be hitting the road way too close to the front of the car, they look more like really bright fog lights than a nice HID setup.

I have no idea if I installed them incorrectly, am missing some sort of adjustment that I can do or both.

Please if anyone can offer any assistance I am at my wits end!

take a look at the pics below

this is the lowbeam at 25ft

hi beams at 25ft (its hard to see but the stock hi's on the driver side is very low)

Here is the down road output shot, notice how the most intense light is way too close to the car

there are "set screws" in the headlight housing that you can turn to adjust the height of the beams

it might just be that the bulbs aren't straight

Are you referring to the adjustment bolt on the back of the housing, or set screws that are inside where the projector mounts. If they are inside are they behind the projector or infront ( I ask because I dont want to pull the housings apart again!)

as far as the bulbs I believe they are in correctly. There is a notch in the bottom of the projector bowl and I assumed the white bar that sits below the bulb went in there so that's how I mounted them. Is this correct?

Okay so I have been using that vertical nut and was able to get the vertical alignment of the lows correct, but when the lows are even the highs are way off??? confusing as hell. Im also confused why it looks great against the wall at 25 feet but when driving the light seems to hit the road so close to the front of the car. I am getting a brand new pair of headlights in a few weeks. Would you be interested in helping me redo the retro and making sure its done correctly? I can head up towards bangor and can provide food/beer or money if you need.

as long as the bulbs are seated in the housing, it should be fine, and then just minor adjustments with the screws/nuts

The high beams have no adjustment. They are permanently secured to the hawkeye headlight housings. The adjustment screws adjust the low beams, which you were able to get straight, but to adjust the high beams, well, that's an issue with how the headlight sits back in the car. Make sure there are no gaps between the headlight and fender/bumper/etc.

It looks like too your rotational alignment is a little off. The cutoff is slanting down on the left in both the high and low beam photos you took.

I'd also make sure, if it comes to you taking the headlights apart, to check and see if the cutoff shield it bent. Your cutoff looks a little bowed.

if it's like any other hid kit(I don't have any personal experience with them) it comes with the bulbs and ballast, and they are just plug and play. I don't think you can mess up an install. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

He bought the TRS full kit, which includes projectors, ballasts, bulbs, etc. The projectors need to be tuned and aligned. That's my assumption.

You had mentioned that the "bar" on the lightbulb was facing down. I was always told that the bar needed to be facing up. Perhaps this is the case. If the bulb is in upside down, it could contribute to your problem.

Let's see if I can do a diagram here so you understand what I'm saying.

This is currently how you have your bulb inside the housing:

================ (bulb on top of housing)

------------------------- ("bar" on bottom of housing)

How I believe it is supposed to be:

------------------------- (bar on top of housing)

=============== (bulb on bottom of housing)

Apkarian, does this sound correct to you?

this is just new hid bulbs or is more involved....I would say if its just a bulb and everything was fine before and now its not isn't it obvious its something with the bulb install? I would say its not seated properly.
