Typical Summer?

I know it's summer and all... but dayum this forum has been quiet. I see a lot of people on, just nobody posting.

Does anyone have anything to talk about? Anyone working on any exciting/interesting/difficult/bizzarre projects?

I've got my hands full with the Forester problems. Nothing sorted out yet. At least it has a good engine now...

And, I'm getting an exhaust installed on the OBS (custom cat-back from a dude on RS25) that's only 6 months old... scored it in trade for some work.

I've finally got the budget together to afford some new rear AGX's but I'm thinking of going back to OBS springs all around. Wonder if there's any interested out there for H&R Sedan Springs... about a 1" drop. Stiff as heck - Shorty, Evil and Akina have seen just how flat my wagon corners!

I've been considering re-using my wife's old 2.5 block and putting together a build - but two problems exist... space? time? ha ha ha... right.

Anyone else?

This summer has been very busy!

I've had many computer jobs, lot of projects around the house (that tend to get put off), and AutoX!!

Been poking at the legacy lately, some new bushings, skid plates, FCD, etc. In the mean time we're enjoying driving the RS and supra.

Planning to go to Devens again next weekend!

Summer is fun!!

I've lost weight, and dropped my blood pressure enough to not need meds (yay).

I've also been riding more than a few times now with Andrew, ShagginWagon, and other peeps on here.

Oh, and I took four hours last Wednesday morning to wash, chamois, clay-bar, and wax the whip. All's I need is to get off my arse and hit it with the Rain-X and I'll have a wagon that's as slippery as MikeBike's

Lets see.

I lost my job in may

Had no job in june

started a new job 100miles away

moved up to my folk's camp for the summer

have a very sketchy internet connection that doesn't work for days at a time.

Other than that I've been doing sweet FA with it raining almost every single day.

I sold one of the VWs, sold the truck, got newer Impreza, got new job, quit old job, got hair cut, getting new septic system, getting new driveway, fell a lot of trees, d-badged two Subarus, cut rockers off old Subaru, fixed welder, waiting for new fender, new Hellas about to be mounted on new brush guard (old one got smashed by tourist), taught un-teachable dog to hang around the yard without a leash or fence, found out my childhood illness is heretitary (oshgood-shlaughter's), found ultra awesome way to sharpen chain saws (dremel!), still cant spel much gud, switched to Michelob, in the middle of modernizing stereo in old Subaru (Xplod, Infinity, Pioneer), dogs get UTIs?, went to America's Stone Henge, did entire length of Kancamangus while sitting semi-quietly in the back seat, watched my back yard wash away, finally finished the Golf. that's about it.

Yah Jeremy, we went thru Haverhill several times. We weren't lost, just could find where we wanted to go.

Spin,

You need to understand your dog, not make your dog understand you. All dogs have different personalities. Being outside, and hanging with people needs to be fun. Our hammer-head Legacy (the Dog) needed practice. She loves hanging with the other pooches, and one day learned if everyone ran and had fun while in the yard no one had to go inside until everyone was pooped out. She hated being outside by herself (without the other dogs) in the unfenced yard. She bolted a couple times, but was rewarded strongly anytime she came back when called. So I let her have her way, and started calling when she approached the woods/road/out-of-bounds. We let her go out with the other dogs, who stay around, and Legacy stays with them. She's still pushes her limits, but I still reward her when she comes...which is usually the second or third call, but she does it. Maturity helps. She's now 3 or 4 years old. No way could she have done this last summer, but her sister (Mercedes) has been free for 2 years. Mercedes is good because she's a people dog, doesn't care about other dogs. She'll learn anything you teach her. Legacy only cares about other dogs, doesn't care much about people. Sparky is the ole galoof. He just hangs around because he's too old and crusty to run off. He didn't listen until his buddy Simba was gone, then suddenly Spark was the man, incharge, and very loyal. He's deaf now, so I have to use hand signals for him. He likes playing in the snow. Summer he just walks around peeing on everything.

Ah, well I don't have other dogs to help me out :sad5: Also, I'm in Portland, so I worry a lot more when she runs off. I've already had her follow some guy and he was calling the animal control when I found her and I've seen the animal control drive by another time after I found her. She always comes back, but I can't just keep letting her go. Plus there are a bunch of kids that like to harass her when they go by outside and I don't think she could handle that being not tied up. She knows limits because when she ran off at my dad's house, she always stays in the neighborhood ... it's big but she never goes further than that ... at least not yet. :icon_scratch:
