VIP sells out

Just heard that my old place of employment has sold out to O'Reilly's. Apparently it's just the parts department though....... Discuss

I like O'Reilly's, but mostly because its the only place to go in the Seattle area.

As far as I know there are none out here. Hopefully just better parts, side note: there very strict on drug use and everyone has to pass a test to be rehired

I get standard parts from RockAuto/junkyard and emergency parts from the westbrook napa. This changes nothing for me.

interested to see their parts selection and quality... never used them or been to one before.. nice to have a new parts store to choose from... is this at all vip's or just the scarb store?

vip sucks, they dont stock anything and the quality of the parts is lousy too. i figured they would go out of business actually but i guess not

I hope it will be better, I HATE VIP. They're awful, way back when I owned my VW, I was getting it road legal, as it was technically my first road legal car. Bought almost a full exhaust system brand new, tried to take it there because at the time it was the only place that was open for inspections. They failed my exhaust three times because apparently the muffler leaked. I exchanged that muffler twice and they kept failing it. I finally got fed up and went somewhere else that passed it with no issues. They just try to say all these things are wrong, so then they can charge you to make money.

110% will not be missed. Half-assed parts supply and shoddy service just don't cut it, people.

Lifetime guaranty on parts, if you want to collect on it twice a year....i only go there if advance or napa don't have what I need and eg is 200% more

I actually payed to have my wheel bearing replaced there before I quit .. I did the work but I did it solely for the lifetime guarantee. Cashed in on the bearing twice now.

The only good thing I see coming from this is potentially better parts and a few people that might actually know what there doing. Service department is still what it is.
