water in rear floor on moms' forester.

my mom has told me that everytime it rains (like today) theres about an inch of water in the rear drivers side of her car. i reglued the door seal that had broken away (around the bottom right side of the door), but its still does it.

i looked on nasioc and they said that for imprezas, AC condensation lines can leak on the other side, so i looked around a bit under the trim for any kind of drain line but didnt see anything.

the carpet seems to be dry on all sides around the puddle except for maybe the part closest to the door, but that might have just been wet from someone getting in. i took off the door sill trim and it looked dry below. the gasket for the window was dry all around, so i dont think its coming in from the window.

any ideas?

Is it before or just after she drives?

I don't really have any [good] ideas, but I figure the question could help any other answer-ers

before she drives. she complains about it all rushing forward and soaking her feet the first time she stops at a stop sign.

I know what that's like... my mom's remote-key rolls down the windows if you hold the unlock button, and guess what happened in my pocket...

During a small hurricane (a month and a half ago or so) no less.

Check to be sure the sunroof drain holes aren't plugged. I've heard this can cause similar problems.

Doh ... and I'm assuming you checked the window seal for tears? It would be weird if the window was the cause where everything around the puddle is dry.

IT COULD BE JUST ABOUT ANY THING from roof rack to rear window not door window the raer side window or even a crack in some seam seal where the body is welded together.the only way to tell is to tear all the interior out and watch were it comes from when its raining

^^joy

Done that a million times on Saturns. Thankfully Subarus are put together a lot better and this doesn't happen nearly as much. Yard out that interior. Head liner and everything. Have someone spray the exterior with the hose and you get inside all buttoned up with a flash light. You'll find the leak. Black windshield urathane is your friend.
