Jeez guys, don't you realize that motorsports cost money. $545 for two days of instruction is CHEAP. not only do you have fun, you might even actually learn something about driving your car at the limit...there's a bit more to the art of driving than sliding around in snowy parkin lots, lads! SCDC is a great group, the real deal, Instructiors keep you on a pretty short leash until you demonstrate good skiils, then you can go as fast as your skill judgement and equipment allow.
Put things in perspective before bitchin about the price. $545 is less than the entry fee for a one-day rally. it's similar to one day rally course at Team O'Neil. Same price as a big speeding ticket. Way less than a nice new set of fat wheels n tires. less than a tank of fuel oil, etc etc
wow I would love to do this!!! Dave is right, you get what you pay for in this instance, for 545, you get to drive you car ON A REAL RACETRACK, with an instructor, giving you pointers on how to drive BETTER and FASTER.
It might be something to look into. I don't think I could do the two days but I might do the one for cheaper. What are the requirements to be able to drive. Helmet, fire suit, licenses???
just show up with a car in solid condition (think AX-worthy, no loose stuff in ca, good tires brakes etc) and a helmet. you're driving with an instructor, it's a learning experience not a race. only license needed is valid driver's license.
oh that plus a few Benjamins! NHIS one-day is closer and yes it's a couple less Benjamins cheaper.
I was just going to go for the Monday, not both dates, but work got in the way. I have a major presentation on Tuesday so I'll be trying to go to one of the later dates. The reason I am going all the way to Watkins Glen is, from what I understand, it is much faster than NHMS.
