how many tax payer $$$'s are already dumped in there?
/quote]
I read recently that so far, the gov't has dumped in approx $8000 per GM car sold this year.
I would be looking forward to true engineering.
The 3 main boxer is no joke. Ask 65+ years of lycoming flying over our heads (american made). It is so comical..it is not funny.
200+_ mpg and american way of life is unlikely. the engine I just mentioned is a powerful way out. As most of us have subarus here, young and old..there is still a lot of japanese weirdness to play with. don't even argue that it is not a monopoloy because it is the ONLY. that is never a good excuse to claim the best.
I could guess what dodges hemi engineering dept would do with one, or GM..big bore little strokers...ford long strokes with supercharged 2.6 liters from the factory...
I just saw a corvair 95 pickup at jay lenos garage. com
what a goofy vehicle. If I am not mistaken, it is the only boxers ever attempted for mass production by usa...and not a single masterpiece: four cylinder.
I guess I am hurt in a way, I finally went for strong facts and abandoned badly handling v8s for 500 dollars, America is the only place to get what we got in the quantity we got it. Time to be smart, kick subys ass. Meanwhile, I stay sube. In fact I may give mine up to a disciplined "subinarian" to get a newer modern sube for daily. I kinda went farther than a junk pile barely gaining inspections. May real business happen, GM anytime now.
