Does anyone know what this is, and what it does? While I was looking for possible coolant leaks around my heads/gaskets, I moved a couple of vacuum hoses to see better. They were near the turbo and over the years must have gotten dry and brittle, because they broke. I followed them to this.
There are 2 hoses connected to it. one goes to a TEE in front of the turbo and intercooler.
The other hose connects to the intake.
I jury-rigged the hoses temporarily. I had some larger hose around so I put the original hoses inside the larger hose and zip-tied them as tight as I could. It looks like I can't just replace the hoses. I think I need to replace the whole DOOhickey.
