I was just reading an article on Cars 101 that said since 2010 the feds past a law stating that if your original oem wheels came with tpms and you decide to buy new wheels with snows or any tire for that matter all dealers, shops etc. must install tpms on those wheels. Who knew ?

You know how many people do that .. None unless you want them I didn't on my summer wheels after 2 flats and 400 worth rubber I spent the. Money and got them

Interesting bit of info, TPMS is nice but I just wish Subaru had dials showing individual tire pressure instead of a slack tire light...

Our Cruiser has it but at 20 lbs slack it didnt light up. Put some air in and then it decided to. Fords

They have a set range. For instance on most toyotas it's set at 26 lbs before a light, typical tire pressure is set at say 32lbs but we can go into the computer and adjust it to whatever.

We may have to chat about that one of these days. The GX supposedly has a switch to run two sets of TPMS sensors independently.

My .02 is that Tpms in general is wasted on many people. Very many VW owners don't bother to read their manual or ask how system works, they come in and say "my tire pressure light is on, whats wrong with it?" . Usually its just normal seasonal pressure loss and they never checked it. I would like thank Firestone and Ford for this lovely requirement.

And state inspection rep I talked to said cant fail sticker for TPMS light for what its worth.
