Why Do My RA UR Mudflaps Drag?

People who I have talked to say they don't have any problems with their mud flaps. Mine however drag when going up an incline like into a parking lot, or up onto my driveway. One of them I actually ripped off while backing up my driveway, they dragged, got caught on the tire and ripped it right off. Fortunately it didn't rip them or break the washers, it just had to be put back on. It did however bend the metal bracket a little bit. I did read the instructions but there is no vertical adjustment, just a straightening adjustment.

Mine drag also... You could always yank them, and with a dreme, duplicate the holes an inch lower.

 
I installed my wife's wicked low. granted they aren't RAs... she had them scrape EVERYWHERE. we just let the road take them off to the proper height.

 
I installed my cheapo d.I.y's on my legacy really really low, looks awesome imo. But one did get ripped off so.... Im with nate.

 
I'm lowered with big wheels too, but they only seem to drag when pulling in my driveway or similar area. Never had one rip off. That would suck. Sure it isn't just your luck?

 
Those look about the same height as mine. I would channel the holes with a Dremel vertically if you want them higher. You could also loosen the bolts and try to push the flap higher then re-tighten.

 
My Prodrive flaps have dragged since new, but not enough to get caught under the tire. If I have a lot of weight in the car they will drag on small bumps, and they will drag on speed bumps with just me in the car...

 
My rubber ones on my old wrx used to drag. Then again they were huge and low. Kept crap off my car pretty good. They were something I had to pay attention to though bc I pinched one of then between my tire and the curb and stuff a couple times and ripped

it off. just move it up by making new holes, trim an inch off the bottom or suck it up and leave them how they are while being careful about backing into things.

 
Yall need to upgrade to Balistic armor special Mainely Subaru mud flaps by Balistic motorsport. The ones I won at the annual meet look awesome, they keep the crap off my car, they are thick as heck, and are ridged as heck, and they show club pride!! Chris (apkarian100) has them on his car as well. Oh and did I mention they are zombie apocalypse approved!!!

Exactly! After 17 years of driving Subarus I finally put mud flaps on my car last summer. Last week I ripped off a mudflap AND REAR BUMPER trying to back over a curb at work. That was not pleasant. Def not a bling accessory you people have turned them into. My remaining 3 will be coming off soon. The rooster tails I make in the dirt/snow/snot are much more fun without mudflaps.

If you drag then eventually you will back over your own mudflap and rip off your bumper. And then your engine will blow up.

 
in the 5 years I've had my car, with flaps the whole time, I just managed to rip one off 2 weeks ago, and it was while backing up somewhere I had no business being
