If your car is running weird or skipping and it is snowing,

CHECK YOUR AIRBOX!!

I just about died when I opened it up and it was FULL of snow!

that is all O0

i never had that problem with a short ram intake

I was curious to see how much there was in the snorkus... but the air box was FULL and the filter was pretty packed too.

that'l teach you to drive a car with a functional hood scoop

i think the stock air box takes air from the front of the hood near the radiator support. The scoop is for the tmic.

it sucks even more when you dont have inner fenders then it really runs like raisin all that snow goes right in the airbox!

was your car unlocked sounld like some one is f@#kin with you

nah.. the snorkle had remnants of the snow in it as well.. that is the only reason I thought to look in the airbox.

Ok.. I know none of you believed me the first time.

it happened again in the big storm on the 31st.

Holy crap!

I'd be double checking the fender liners, put panty hose over the snorckle, or removing it for snow storms. Maybe tape up the hood crack where the air gets drawn. that's got to be murder on the MAF

fortunately there is no moisture or snow past the filter. it just clogs up.

granted this only seems to happen when it is in the teens or less and snowing. I think it is just too damn fluffy and gets sucked in.

Fender liners are all together, this is all coming in through the snork. I have been thinking of replacing the bolts with a pair of aluminum Dzus fasteners just for this reason.

I had a similar incident happen on my 97 VW GTI. Driving in a snowstorm car started acting funny. Losing power and then the throttle was sticking too. Popped the hood to find an engine packed in snow. Had a short ram on it that was caked with snow.
