worth the effort?

So I bought a cat-back off a fxt from bratman and used the axleback portion as a platform for a new dynomax (see gallery thread) the axleback is 2.25inch and the midpipe is 2.5, would there be ay worthwhile gains in lenghtening said midpipe to fit? I can't really see that it would, but want more insight han my own.

Based on what I know of fluid movement(air is a "fluid") it wouldnt really change anything. Would it give it a unique sound, yes. The midpipe would allow the exhaust to expand and slow down. Then accelerate it when you go through the constriction at the other end. This could result in power gain or loss. The only way to really know would be putting it on a dyno with stock then with the fab'd setup.
