[ this is tanja.. too pissed off to sign off Jim and sign on myself....]

So I get this letter from the bureau of motor vehicles today letting me know that my DL will be suspended on Sept 25th unless I fill out this form and tell them why I cancelled the insurance on the Subaru.

a) I didn't cancel my insurance - I traded my XT and therefor made changes to the insurance

2nd WTF! is that what we pay the high Maine taxes, fees etc for???? so some guy can sit there and stuff two pieces paper in a bright yellow envelope to tell me that they heard a rumor that I may have cancelled my car insurance??

Since insurance companies in the state of Maine are required to notify the state if changes are made to vehicle policies, obviously the guy covering cancellations and the guy covering new coverage are sitting across from each other THEY JUST DON'T TALK!!

So I filled out the form PUT A STAMP on the envelope and mailed it - 10 minutes of my life I will never get back!

It's the Bureau of Motor Vehicles way of stating that you should have kept the XT instead of going to the Dark Side of VERSA...

I'd look into it, last time my insurance company eff'd something like that up, they were held responsible....

i.e. They should be wasting THEIR time trying to get your fine dropped, and if not dropped, payed.

My insurance company sent me a letter... I waited 2 days to open it. It said:

"We regret to inform you that we will not continue your homeowners policy. We have sent a copy of this letter to your mortgage company. Your policy will terminate on 9/30/06."

Talk about a "WTF moment"!!! Seems that the insurance company just f'd up but everything is oK.

"We regret to inform you that we will not continue your homeowners policy. We have sent a copy of this letter to your mortgage company. Your policy will terminate on 9/30/06."

Talk about a "WTF moment"!!! Seems that the insurance company just f'd up but everything is oK.

 
hey don't complain!!!!! at least they sent you a letter, instead of getting stoped by the police for a plate light (lame!!) and haven't him give you a summons for your court date for driving with a suspended regerstration! two court hearings later, and talking with the sec, of state. they said.. have you had insurance the whole time? um yeah... ok your free to go.. THAT'S A WTF moment

pretty much the state passed a stupid bill or something that they don't know how to enforce, pretty much you just sent in a copy of your proof of insurance. there grand idea to make sure everyone drives with insurance... implemented with all the skill and grace that you would expect from the state of maine.

i got one for my legacy's registration when i bought the wrx.

it said if i dont show them proof of insurance on the legacy within a month they'll end the registration early on it, and they aren't required to refund me for the part of my money they'll be throwing away in the early termination of the registration.

if i want i can claim that the car is in storage, but imust stay in storage for a MINIMUM of 3 months.

WTF?

so i cant take the insurance off my own damn car for say a month or two while i say, work on it or something? it needs to either be unnecessarily insured or it needs to be in storage?
