I'm looking for a new muffler for my 1992 Legacy 2.2L N/A 4WD wagon.

:I need some opinions of:

Where did you find yours?

what brand?/are there actually options?

how you like it?

has it held up?

i had a oval crome muffler with a 3" outlet on my car when it was n/a, it actually sounded pretty good. no idea of the brand though

 
well from the info I've gathered at legacycentral.org I can apparently use a 07 STi muffler and it should bolt on with no fabrication.

it seems a bit strange to me though. Considering the n/a exhaust is just shy of 2in. diameter and the STi is roughly 2.25in. diameter. ???

does this make sense?

 
sometimes the overall size of the flange is the same. I have a dynomax ultra flo welded on my 2.5i. it's been on for at least a year, a little surface rust, but it's deep and mellow. got it on ebay for around 80
