2002 WRX exhaust

My friend wants a turboback exhaust for his new wrx.

Looking to spend under 1000

Wants it to sound mean haha

Anyone have suggestions?

He should REALLY get a tune if he installs a turbo back as well, so if he doesn't already have that budgeted, it would be a good idea.

Jna make a nice cat-back for 219. Ebay downpipes aren't bad for ~100. Pick up a V2 Cobb access-port for under 500 used for a stage 2 tune. All for under 1000.

Get something catted. No reason not to have at least one, unless it's a trailer queen 500hp+ track car.

the ebay full systems aren't bad i have the 3" turbo back catless it sounds good i left the silencer in the muffler just because i didnt want it too loud and get hassled all the time ..

turbo's love free flowing (intake,exhaust,charge) i personally dont like cats and have none on my car and if i do ever put one back on it will be a high flow cat.less restriction in any way means faster spool and more power

ebay has the exact same exhaust as the jna for under 200 shipped for a turbo back. spend the rest on a tune and catless up pipe
