A Bad Day

No, it was the whole "lets discuss more about getting more from the insurance company" thing. I wasn't saying milk it for all its worth. The accident was not his fault and his time, I assume, is worth something. A repair like that normally isn't cheap. If he is going to fix it himself he should at least be able to pocket the money he saved on the repair as compensation for his time. And if Saabaru meant no offence, then I am sorry I took offence to his statement. I just wanted to be clear about my intention to help.

I was not being sarcastic, I was saying, if the damage is a lot more than $950, and more work is involved, he should get more from the other persons insurance. I think what he is doing is great, as long as it is not putting him out. Some people just like to do things like this. And others do differently, milk insurance companies,etc..

Hey everyone, just got the pics had to send to the adjuster in order for them to process my claim. Im sure I wont be able to get new parts as they have to follow the guidelines, the year and the mileage but since I'm a bodyman I would rather repair the damage instead of getting an after market or a used which could be worse than I have now. I dif want a new light.

So anyways the pics really dont show the damage very well but it's there.

Heh, note the skillful use of packing tape! But really It doesn't look so bad. Whats that gonna take, a few whacks from a rubber mallet, a new light and some paint repair? Looks to me like you cant see the damage to the light frame from the outside, so you could probably gently bend it back and the only person who would know would be you right? Then there are scuffs on the bumper... that probably won't buff out though, too bad. **** happens though, bought my car in March and have had to replace the front bumper, repaint the rear bumper, repaint the passenger rear door, and replace 2 rims. My car is OBP too, the only one of those that was MY FAULT was the rims.

EEEK, posted too quick, didn't see the trunk lid in the second set. Ouch.
