yeah this one is more than just a housing too. the Circlip stub axle was ripped out and there are metal shavings all over the place. I have to get it up in the air and check the trans as well the Power Plant Frame is about 4" from the ground (stock height is about 6) and that bolts to the diff and to the trans. and the motor is wobbling all over the place. so I think the engine mounts are pooched.

exceedingly lame that the body shop didn't catch that stuff.

driveline hits are rarely confined to one place. when the LDR STI creamed that tree at Team O'Neill rally, the engine took a direct hit from a 10" birch. the motor and front subframe were of course smooshed. but heavy damage extended rearward--busted trans mounts, front halfshafts sheared off, prop shaft buckled, propshaft mounts tweaked, rear diff & subframe pooched, rear halfshafts sheared off, etc etc.

amazingly, with a bit of tweakage on the frame machine (and a caring operator of same), the hard points for suspension and drivetrain lined up pretty good for the rebuild.

sounds like you have some legitimate issues with the insurance repairs...like they were only half done! Given the list of other damage you've seen and felt, I bet they total it. DIdn't somebody look under the car on a lift??!!!

Spoke with my insurance advisor (family) and they will fix it after all the monies that they put into the rest of the car. just not sure how long it is going to take.

well they are required to either fix it all the way or pay me for the car so I can buy another. it is a better investment to fix it rather than to pay out over double what the car is worth
