Another old Subaru-1990 Loyale build

Ok good to know. I'll take a peek at everything once I get it out and apart. It'll be nice to have a clean and freshly sealed motor in the car. I figure it's worth it because of the condition of the rest of the car.

I now have NGK plugs and wires on the way, along with a new pcv valve and two 12" slim fans to mount in the front of the radiator.

Got the plugs and PCV valve so far. Also got the other mod that I have planned. Snorkel kit is here! Probably will be a while before it goes on, but I have it. I'll get a pic at some point.

Picked up a parts car. Don't have it home yet, but it has a lot of good parts on it, including a mint interior and carpet that will end up in the Loyale, and an LSD rear diff that I'll have to modify to match my final drive.

Nice! What is wrong with the parts car? It looks solid in the pic. BTW, I have the title for the parts legacy finally. Message me your address and I will send it out to you.

This is AWESOME news! PM on it's way!

The parts car has had rust work in the rear quarters. It's really not that bad, but it's still just parts for me. It's turbo too, but the EA82T wasn't known for being much good lol.

Engine reseal kit and timing belt/water pump kit came yesterday. Just waiting on the 2 fans, and the NGK plug wires.

This is the snorkel I bought, obviously not in it's actual place lol

This is the EJ22 donor motor!

And these are the dual exhaust port heads I hope to use

Your 'car' is LOVING sick Jason, I may have to copy you with that snorkel!
Haha thanks Rick. It's getting there. Still quite a bit of work to do!

Just ordered a header for the new EJ motor too!

Obviously I won't be using the dual port heads.

Also bought this small piece too. This bolts right to the header pipe, and then I'll have to make, or have someone make the rest of the exhaust.

Got the 2 fans, I'll get pics of those sometime soon, the plug wires also showed up. Say screw it and ordered a new radiator tonight, along with a thermostat which I had forgotten to order initially. And some high temp paint to paint the header with.

The parts car is now home, and the Legacy is at the garage waiting to have the motor and harness pulled and prepped! Day full of towing cars with the truck and trailer!

The EA82T in the parts car. Ran great when I went to buy the car, then stalled and wouldn't restart while trying to load it on the trailer yesterday. I'm almost thinking it broke one of the timing belts. I'll be using the air box to fit the EJ22 into the Loyale.

And this is eventually getting pulled out, the LSD chunk will be pulled out, have a 3.90 ring gear bolted to it, and then will be stuffed into a 3.90 diff housing after a little grinding for fitment on the housing. After building one before, I can't wait to have one in this car. Makes a lot of difference.

Got the header tonight, so now I have everything for the motor. The redrilled flywheel and adapter should be here fairly soon as well. I still need to pull the EJ22 and the harness so I can send the harness out. Really hoping that happens this coming week.
