Apkarian100's 2002 MBP WRX Wagon

Clutch install is finished! We ran into a couple bumps in the road getting the engine in and out, but we were finally able to button it back up in the end.

Things I noticed about the old clutch:

1. Flywheel had heat cracks and was pretty worn.

2. Clutch disc wasn't in too bad on shape but was getting down there.

3. Pilot bearing felt gritty and not smooth at all.

4. Pressure plate didn't appear to be in that bad of shape. It still had plenty of force before I removed it.

(Don't worry about the alignment tool be misalign. It was fixed shortly after the pic was taken)

Ah, HGs. I've done a couple of those. At least the engine clearance in the bay isn't as tight as mine.

You speak the truth. I was able to do both sides on my old 00 RS. I left the block in and lifted the motor off the engine mounts a little, was able to get at both sides.

and on pass side of the 2.5 n/a motor, there's actually pretty good clearance to do HG w/motor in place (or jacked up just a lil)

Got some primer on my wheels today. Next comes light sanding to get out the small imperfections.

The wheels don't look too bad in primer.

So I'll be parking the wagon till I can come up with another solution to fix the issue. I'm really pushing for a hybrid swap. Trying to get my car fixed before I have to go to school in late August.
