Audi suspension?

Ok what is it about this setup that is so great?

Oh and I split this so that we won't clog up GClarks thread

heh.

mmmmmm, audi content

So Koni shocks and some 2.5 ID springs.

I did the suspension in the otter for under $600 with Bilstein shocks and quality sleeves. You can get the gravel height you want out of a similar setup for the Audi.

If I can take a peek at the audi's underpinnings I can tell you if the same is possible for that car.

Don't go Konis for the gravel mate. You'll regret it.

Call ground control and order two sets of 4000q rears. Then get Bilstein HD's, Boge Turbogas, or hell...even KYB GR2's.

someone traded an AUdi Quatro as a cash for clunkers at EG. Too bad, it was a nice car, leather, no dents, nice alloys, low miles. Sad. Its gone to Audi ValHalla now. /end hyjack

sounds like it should be "accidentally unlocked" one night....

that sucks, an audi will go forever, hell it might even live through the engine being salted lol ask ty about running without coolent

back on topic, i didnt see the GC had a kit for any audi but the 4k anymore, but i am thinking about building a kit now but the thing i dont like about the HD is that its not adjustable and i want that adjust-ability for a street car

when you destroy the twin tube Koni's you will be wishing for the much larger single of the Bilsteins. (HD's are revalvable so you can "adjust them" if you actuall need it)

ty can you tell me the pros/cons with the different shocks? im pricing this out and wondering what to go with for shocks. Also i read somewhere on motorgeek i think that GC wont just sell the rears anymore, so i might have to make the kit from scratch

also the HDs are going to run nearly 550 for the audi so cant be done for 600, but maybe under 800 if i can find a good site to build the kit from

what model / year do you have?basically the Koni adjustables are twin tube. Smaller body diameter and have a hell of a lot more going on inside of them. Decent choice for street driving, but they are pricey (very) and the twin tube design doesn't resist cavitation as well as the monotube design like the Bilsteins. The bilstein HD uses the same piston type throughout it's product lineup. That product lineup encompases OEM, Stock Car, Circuit racing, Off Road Racing, Rock Crawling, and Rally. Their shock body is quite a bit bigger than the Koni's as well. 50mm vs 36 on the Koni. granted you will be stuck using 2.5" ID coilsprings but that is no problem. it's not like you are at the point where you are shaving ounces from your ride for performance. The Bilsteins can be rebuilt as well as revalved. This can be done just about everywhere. and if you ever are looking for a qualified rebuilder, just check some spec Miata forums for a good local place. Circle track rebuilders are also common. oh and I found the Bilsteins for~$400. http://www.Shox.com
