Car that you most regret selling

So I have been lurking on my old 944 porsche forums lately to see whats new in the world of 944s, I used to own a gorgeous 89 944 NA 5 speed extremely comfortable leather seats beautiful german engineering. Now as I read the post I remenise of the times when I used to balst down the back roads with my car 50/50 weight distribution sliding ever so lightly around corners then blasting out and getting to the meat of the engine with 3rd gear pulls to 80 and 4th gear to 120 w/ great feeling of control and brakes that could stop a train. I miss my car although it was 15 years old when I sold it I still recieved attention from people who thought it was brand new. I don't regret buying my RS its the car I had always longed for I just wish that fate will one day bring me another 944 to park along side my rs. Preferably a 944 turbo in guards red w/lsd in the rear. And for those who dont know much about the 944 turbo 2.5L 4 cyl turbo 245hp Front engine rear drive with the transmission in the back to give the 50/50 weight distribution. 4pots for brakes top speed 186mph. Stock adjustable koni shocks

Sorry to remenise I just figured someone else might be able to share their regretable sale

I owned a 914. It was converted to dual Webbers. There were lots of things wrong with it. When I owned it I didn't know how to fix any of it's issues, so I sold it. Wish I hadn't. Now I could probobly fix all those issues and mod it up a bit to make it a real demon.

That car is the one I most regret selling. I have never driven a 944, but I'd like to. For now that 914 is the one I wish I still had. A couple times a year I look at Automobile Atlanta and check out the drivers they have for sale.

I had a 71 Buick Riviera 455ci that yes was a land yacht but it flew and I was 18-19 years old so it never had any tread on the tires but it was like this one.

1983 Mazda RX-7 GSL in Mariah Gold. Tiny 12a engine, putting aout ~105hp bone stock. Original mags (mint too), even had the original tires on when I picked her up in 2000. She had a mere 59k on her, mint inside and out all original. And I bought her for $1500! When I loaded it onto the flatbed (was March 2000... bald tires and RWD + snow = trailer) the owner quipped "Don't go spinning them tires there. Those haven't been chirped a day in its life!"...

Needless to say, within months those tires weren't just chirping, they were in all out smoke. 1st & 2nd were golden in that car, with the LSD she'd light the tires going into second if you pushed it. Not suprisingly, the clutch began slipping in no time. Job only took about 3 hours, and damn was that tranny LIGHT as hell. After I changed that out, and did a good tuneup front to back (shocks, springs, tires, brakes and an ATF treatment) she was good as gold.

Ended up selling it after 3 years of owning it for $1000 MORE than what I paid for it. As son as the new owner drove away, I cried. Seriously. And right now, I'm really missing her. Thanks for the post L-Town.

I regret selling my 86 gti. It was fun to drive but was a money pit. The kid I sold it to put about 22k miles on it without having to put a dime in it, then he sold it for 500 bucks more than I sold it to him for. Sellers remorse is a terrible thing. That would have mada a great rallycross car. :'(

I've never sold a car :-X But I want a 944 turbo in red too!

Or black ... one of my mom's friends had a red turbo, and his son had a black NA ... both VERY sick

I'll always have a soft spot for my old Porsche 928S. Even though it was automatic, that car was a blast. Great sound, great handling, great build quality, and amazingly reliable! I haven't had a car quite like it until I got this M3. Ironically, the last 3 numbers of the VIN are 928. ;D

1991 Audi V8 Quattro

With 120k on the clock, I called the Audi dealer to ask how much to have a timing belt done. $1200. I almost fell over. I sold the car to a guy who knew quite a bit about Audi's. He really wanted one of these, one of the reasons being it has a timing chain, not a belt. DOH!

That car pulled like mad and rode like a dream. For a big car, it turned nicely. I really miss it at times.

73 911T -- 2.4l, mechanical fuel injection, 5-spd. no sunroof, crank-up winders, no AC or anything else that did not make the car go, stop, or turn..

the lightest, most torquey of the early 911s. noises it made were symphonic (LOUD but pleasing)--exhaust blatting, whirr of valvetrain, air-cooled fan clatter, and gearbox whine. mmmm, tasty.

there is a reason the 911 is an iconic car. this one was particularly nice, it was soooo original. took a Top 10 in Porsche Concours Nationals with it. even the super-picky PCA judges couldn't tell if it had been repainted. (minor paint work on front clip after sideswiping a garage door in mid-70s)

even tho this 911T was the ONLY car I ever sold for more than I paid for it, the dumbest move ever was to sell it. that same car recently changed hands for over $35k!!

Car that I've owned and sold - my 83 944 (guards red, 5 speed). That was a beautiful car and handled awesome. One of the few cars that I've owned that I truly miss. Funny how Porsche keeps coming up in this thread.

Car that we had to give back when we were done with it but really wished we could have kept? The 1989 Buick LeSabre Estate wagon that Dad ran the '89 One Lap in. Monster old wagon, white with wood grain paneling, and the only things that gave it away were a bumper sticker that read "We Brake for Corvettes" and a GNX hood ornament.

It had a full GNX drive train and suspension in it courtesy of the Buick Skunkwerks, nice seats and reworked interior, would freekin' haul tail! And handled much better than you would ever think a wagon that size could. The look on 5.0L Mustang driver's faces when you started walking away from them with the family hauler? PRICELESS!!!!!

Oh, there was nothing smooth about that beast! You pressed the go pedal and you completely forgot that you were in a land yacht, American station wagon! ;D

My '93 L-RS. Everytime I hit a dirt road or the twisties, my heart feels a little saddened.....

Or, when I pull up next to a stock WRX, Mustang GT, Camarro, etc. etc, and I realize that my OBS can't even dream about keeping up like my L-RS......
