Car that you most regret selling

93 Corrado SLC VR6, black with black leather--all options.

Absolutely mint car. I ownd it for nine years and sold it with 52K on the clock in 2003 to a guy who flew up from New Jersey (he was a pilot) and bought it on first sight for 12K. He won a VW show with it two weeks later and emailed pics of the trophy :-.

Still smelled like new inside as I cleaned and conditioned leather 4 or 5 times a year. Waxed religiously. All stock except stainless brake lines, K&N filter and compomotive five spoke wheels. Everything worked-even the moonoof.....

Sold it because, though everything still worked, I feared it would become a money pit as things broke and needed repair. I was probably right.

..::sigh::..

sit down children...time for a story..

back before my wife and i were married, we lived together in Lewiston. she didnt have her license and i did all the driving. well we were out car shopping (ok it was more like I was out car shoopping.) one afternoon and stumbled upon a local dealership. there in the back lot of this local joint was a 1979 buick skylark....it was bronze with tan landau top, plaid interior. unmolested...never been touched...old lady owned it for real...she sold it to us.. less than 100k on the clock, the best part is...it had the 350 option not the smaller engine. its was smooth...

this car was emmaculate every aspect of it. so i bought it for $700.00 yes seven hundred dollars!

well the 700 came from the wifes father...he bought it for "us"

anyways...not long after that the wife (then girlfriend) ran into relationship problems and i moved out..leaving behind the buick..because it was in HER name after all..he dad paid for it. few weeks go by and we talk on the phone and work stuff out...so i end up moving back in...i was happy we were back together..but honestly..i was happy to be getting back into the Buick..

BUT NO!!!! SHE SOLD IT!!!!

i couldn't believe it..she sold it...heh i almost turned around and left again.. to her credit she sold it for $1000.

oh man i still get emotional about that car to this day..

for those that dont know the buick skylark of that year is the same body style as the Chevy Nova.

Vanda what?? Car needed a lot of work to pass inspection, and was not worth putting any money into it. So Bro and I spent 40 bucks on film and spray paint and had fun. Then went off roading, then to th dump in Scarborough. This all took place in 1997/1998??

Well not exactly selling.....

My 95 240sx SE, I bought it stock, VLSD, Fogs, ABS, Moonroof and 5 speed. Turbo'ed the KA, added springs/struts and a new clutch. 17x8 rims, a stock front lip and a few other little gadgets, man was that thing a blast. Put down 241 WHP and 301 FT/lbs at f1 dyno, just an absolute blast to drive.

I was t-boned up at school by some dick in a miata, bought the car back from the insurance co. and parted it out. Even though it was financially the right choice, I still wish i would have just rebuilt it :-

sold my '92 Loyale a few years back. I picked up for $500, and it was only meant to get me through the winter till i could get my legacy on the road. I ended up falling in love with it, i dubbed her Laura. I took her everywhere. In the fields behind my house, through the woods, and i was constantly taking the lake home instead of the roads. I cant even count how many times i actually got stuck with it, because i thought it could go more places than it actually could. I ended up seizing the engine in it, and put another ea82, though i was thinking of putting the turbo'd version in. The car was deathly slow, and i loved it. I hit top speed of 95 mph with the old engine and 92 with the new engine (took from lewiston exit to sabattus exit to do it, 6 miles haha). I ended up selling the car in the spring to help with the funds of the legacy swap. I ended up getting $800 for it, and the kid bought it so he could drive to florida, haha. I do miss selling it and i wish i had it today. so many great memories.
