WTF... this just ins't right.. talk about big brother watching us..

Makes me want to go sign right up......

Scary stuff, I am glad I don't need the government to buy me a new car. Why is our government in the buisness of buying people new cars anyway? That is not why I pay taxes. We are in real trouble.

we are takling about fox news with a liberal government in power, if it was the other way around they would be praising it... either way take it with a grain of salt

Doesn't suprise me, welcome to the socialist nation

All of you who voted for Obama, please speak up so we can tell you how much you screwed us.

"Blah blah blah Bush sucks blah blah"

Look what WE got instead, congrats

Think Evergreen could handle a 1000 car month? Think anyone really could?

Uhh, folks? That's the same generic disclaimer that is posted on every armed forces computer, every government pc, and the like. It was a cut n' paste job when they were setting up the cars.gov network, and it's only seen when logging into the dealer - repeat DEALER - section. They're giving the dealers access to the government network, and they want to be able to call the shots on their own network.

Here’s the agreement. Please note that it’s on the login page for dealers, not consumers — and it’s not even on the cars.gov site! This agreement is not intended for consumers, and it does not apply to consumers.

Here is the U.S. Department of Transportation Privacy Policy for consumers and the general public.

Although the language of the dealer’s agreement might seem a little over-zealous (a common problem in “terms of service” agreements), it’s a lot more understandable when you realize it’s intended to apply to dealers who are entering into a business agreement with the government to dispose of clunkers. And it appears on a secure website that allows dealers to log into the government’s financial system. The page is named: supplierpayments.esc.gov.

the wording on that site is different then the ones quotes on the video...

also yes i voted for obama because i didnt want a crazy lady that doesn't know where her own state is to run things. I would have voted for the other lady if she had beat out obama because at least she had some experience with these matters; you know she had bill by the balls the whole time he was in office (or Monica did im not sure)

That's because since the Glennbeckerry ensued, the language has been changed so that it pertains more directly to the clunkers program.

I absolutely hate the cash for clunkers program. It is one of the biggest wastes, destroying a perfectly good working car that gets 18mpg to go buy a car that gets 25mpg is so stupid. If they are going to do it all they should make the new car you get have to be 40+ mpg, or something.

But the cost and oil to produce the new 25mpg car someone buys over the 18mpg car will never make up for the 5mpg difference. Not in oil use, pollution, etc. They'd have to drive that new car for hundreds of thousands of miles to break even. Break even both in gas savings and emissions probably. It is just ridiculous and makes me sad perfectly good working cars that underprivileged people could use are getting destroyed.

The other part about the program is the tax money bit, I'm supporting something I really don't support. But here is the thing. The idea is to try to stimulate the car buying market to help out auto companies. So then why are people allowed to use that $4000ish to go buy a foreign car? If the point is to help out struggling car companies *cough* GM *cough* it should be contained to the US car market.

I'm not saying I want that to happen, more people who buy subarus the better

, I'm just saying that is how the program should logically work. If you can apply any logic to it in the first place...
