well that is a driveline failure which is covered under your warranty untill 60k miles.yeah, i'm really relieved. I can understand a clutch linkage going at 100K +, but less than 50k? And on top of that i really don't drive it hard. I think it definelty played to my benefit that i've been religious about the service and have gotten to know the service manager pretty well - and he knows the history of the car thru the records they keep etc etc.
And its like, what caused the failure? They don't really know yet according to the ser. manager - they have to really get in there and look. I don't know if the fork in the wrx is cast or stamped - so was it a bad casting? bad slave cyl? somethign w the release bearing? or even wear against the casing like someone mentioned. I know a little about clutches but i'm no expert.....
it's an engineering concept known as "entropy" ccasion14:And its like, what caused the failure? They don't really know yet according to the ser. manager
i hear that......... and the serv manager said that all the stuff in the clutch assembly is only 3/36000 for the warrantee cause of the "wear and tear"it's an engineering concept known as "entropy" ccasion14:And its like, what caused the failure? if something can break, it will.
this concept has yet to fail in 500,000 years of human history :whip2:
good to know. Thanks a lot for the info!He is BSing you.
unless it is a wear part like the clutch disc, pressure plate, Throw out bearing, or pilot bushing.
if you don't replace it as part of a clutch job, it isn't a "wear item" and thus under your 60k
