Engine light

So on my way home from work tonight I was on leeds junction road in 4th gear I went WOT till around 80mph then put the car in neutral and coasted on a hill. The CEL started blinking and by the time I got to the stop sign the CEL went away. What could have happened?

I'm starting to think the guy I bought this from didn't tell me everything that was wrong with it.

id have it scanned somewhere and see if there are any pending/stored codes, typically if your light is flashing its considerd an engine/cat convertor damging condition and you should pull over and get a tow.....hopefully theres something in there

Took my car to Ron's Transmission today and he looked up all the codes that were causing the engine light and he said that the top cat was going bad. I'm guessing that's the up-pipe?

Not sure exactly what the code was but I can find out tomorrow I'm going back to find out what that clanking noise is under my car.

You know what I just realized... When I used that black oven sealant for my exhaust it broke all up inside the pipe. could this have caused the CEL? I replaced it today with a real exhaust gasket and some of that orange high temp sealant on the outside, but when I opened it up all kinds of black glass POOP fell out which I'm hoping was that sealant stuff.

Cause it said "up to 900 F" on the bottle and if you read my other post about my exhaust I said this.

This is a question I have had since that thread.

but what compelled you to use oven sealant on your exhaust other than that it has a high heat rating.

I don't have a 3" DP so I have to use the adapter flange to mate up with the stock 2.5" DP. Without any sealant it leaked like a s.o.b, but this isn't about the sealant that issue is solved its about the engine light.

If it leaked, that means you are missing the correct gasket. and that can cause your CEL issues. So this all runs in the same circle.

This is why I brought up this issue again.

Get the proper gaskets and reinstall everything minus the refractory cement.
