Fog light water damage === PISSED

yaay, Toyota-bashing threadjack!

I had a company car, one of these effing Toyo minivas with the motor under the front seats...it was a decent little thing, at least until it blew a radiator hose, and the interior filled up with choking white smoke and I went off the road. Fortunately instead of landing in the trees, I skidded to a stop on some nice lady's lawn.

bought a new 2002 Tacoma V6 TRD, a great big/little truck that saved my ex-wife's life when she pulled out in front of a GMC 2500 pickup that was signaling to turn and then went straight....GMC 1, new Taco 0. At least the ex and the yellow Lab were OK enough so they both wanted to bite the GMC driver.

and the last Toyota rally car I remember seeing actually run an event was an ST185 Celica, roof-down in a bog after blowing a chicane at Rally NY.

All I'm sayin', Nige, (can I call ya 'Nige?) izzat' Im seriously under-impressed with some Soob build quality and design issues, after two short years of ownership.

Water in foglight wiring?

Blown speedo at 59k (Mine- and WTF is a speedo doing crapping out at 59-bleeding-K, Nige, any way?)

Assorted shizzle that's not generally associated with, say, Honda or the current 'Yoda lineup.

(Those 80's vans were dog-**** I laughingly agree!)

Just because SoA sold a rally-out-of-the-box car doesn't mean they owe us any shortings on build quality to attain a price point.

Obviously, they're missing The Point, from an enthusiast's pov.

Next year's STi new automatic should be a real laugh, as they devalue the brand further, quitting WRC aside, of course.

suby build quality has (often/maybe/sometimes/always) had it's ....issues

body integrity for one, my wagon creaks so bad I'm about ready to tear the whole back seat out just to shut it the )&**(&% up. did I mention tire & wind noise, well not really I can't hear you whaaat?

OK let's talk WRB paint...every single stone chip (hundreds actually) can be seen from 20 feet. It's like the car was dipped a different color under the top coat of blue.

subes like to chew up their tires, now there's a news flash

etc etc oh yeah did you notice your rear diff is smoking

meanwhile, if you didn't have big dirty fun with your suby, you missed the whole point

thems aint build issues, they're 'brand character'

we steel wub u suby! (speak nice of yer car or it'll strand ya in spite)

Thanks for all the info, I am having trouble checking with multimeter, I am getting 0v but I am worried it might be my lack of electrical experience. What connectors should I be checking, the light only seems to have 1 and I don't know if I trust myself to yank wires to test right at the wires.

There are two wires that attach to the bulb. One actually attaches to the wire that is coming off of the bulb, while the other connects to the metal ring around the bulb. If you were to take the wire out, there should be two wires you would have to unplug ... those are the two you should be checking.

So I fixed my lights, do not ask me how, but they work again. The only thing I can think of is I reset my ecu when changing an intake. I don't see how that would do it, but whatever, they are working.

I really must have spooks and I have pissed them off again. Tonight they aren't working again.

Time to yank the harness and see what is loose.
