Front plate laws?

Yeah, Evan, if you applied your lips to enough hind ends you might catch a break.

I see you have.

Congrats, you're successful at something.

i drive in cumberland almost everyday and haven't gotten a ticket in over 5 years. i get pulled over about once a month for silly little things because yes, as you said, the cops are bored. the thing is that if you treat them like people instead of 'cops' they'll treat you like a person instead of a 'suspect'.

i got pulled over about a month ago by a cop sitting in an intersection late at night here in cumberland.

he asked if i had ever been pulled over for my exhaust before (invidia race-back),

i said yeah, about a month ago.

he said upon looking at it closer it looks like a solid piece and he had pulled me over because it sounded like it was a cut off exhaust.

i said no, its full stainless but i need it to support proper power levels and unfortunately that comes with excess noise.

he gave me back my license and let me be on my way without even a warning.

as for non-cumberland cops i got pulled over 2-3 months ago for doing 55-60 through the windham rotary (35 zone) with a cop RIGHT behind me. i calmly told him the truth, in the dark his car looks similar to a coworker of mine who often follows me home. i assumed it was him tailgating me because he wanted me to speed up to get home quicker. again he let me go w/o a warning.

my g/f's father is a cop in freeport. hes told me many first hand stories of drivers he pulled over with the intention of just warning them, once he found out they were a dick he kept them there for 20 min and gave them a ticket for everything he could think of.

i wouldnt call it catching a break, i would call it being civil to another human being, not looking down at them and getting the same in return from them.

and yes, being humane is one of the things i'm successful at. i'll spare you by not listing the rest of those things.

right on Evan.

the last one to pull me over for being 4 months over the inspection, was going to ticket me, then written warning, but by the time we were done, he just told me not to drive the car in town again until inspection, because I was nice, honest (failed inspection due to CEL) and trying to fix it. He actually started out like a prick, but calmed after talking with me. I think most of the time they assume it is some punk kid in a ricer and when they find out it is a chick that is older than them, they chill a little! :glasses9:

the only ones to give me grief have been the ones I started out with an attitude with. I know ME with a 'tude, who would have thunk it. don't even go there guys! :nono:

I guess the problem I have is I am a punk kid so I get a ticket no matter how nicely and honestly I talk to the cops and how much I treat them like people and all that bs. They take one look at my car then me and say lisence and registration please. Ive stopped trying.

I had been pulled over every night in west falm when I had an sti... even when it was entirely stock going the speedlimit for the exhaust. Cops are dicks, well most of them (some of my friends are cops... and they are dinks). They stopped pulling me over when I threatened to sue them for hair-assing me (true story, I went to the station and told them that enough was enough after two weeks straight by the same dude at 1 am every night. haven't been bothered yet). Then I put a loud exhaust on.

On a side note... Cumberland cops suck. Someone stole my plates off my car and the cops laughed and told me "too bad and we dont care, it is too late to deal with this"... (exact words because it was 11pm when I noticed it and they wanted to relax)

right on Evan.
