Hahahahaha.... Too bad this got closed. Kristof for once made a valid point about Pat's dog-o-matic drifter.
Lesson learned though. Don't race with SRT-4's. They get you in trouble. And honestly I wouldn't fight it. Pay the ticket and be done with it. You were speeding.
I remember back in my high school days trying to contest a ticket. And the judge made an announcement in the court room before he started for the day. He said: "If you are here to try and contest a ticket, and your only defense is that you were not speeding. Get out of my courtroom, and go cry to the District Attorney." He went on to explain how he could not only still charge you for the ticket, but also up the fine at any point. Half the room got up and left. He doesn't need to get you on radar to give you a ticket. He could actually argue that you were speeding up, and going faster then the other car but he let you off for going the lower "radar'd" speed. If it comes down between you and the cop.... YOU LOSE!
On another note, If you have been with the same insurance company for a while (with a clean record) and you get this one ticket, chances are it won't hurt your premiums. They typically only do periodic checks into the driving records of customers who then deem at a higher risk (already have a record). You may just get away with it. I have only had one ticket in the last 8 years or so, and it was in my last vehicle. I had a big Nissan Titan, and got nabbed on the turnpike after about a week of having it. (wasn't used to the truck) My premiums never went up, and the next year when my plan renewed it never showed up that I had a ticket at all.
