H1N1 shot

Anyone else getting one? Barb and I get ours today, I'm not real sure about it but the amount of contact I have with people and having to assist any that get it here I guess I should have it.

We got 'em free at the school, payed for by the taxpayers of the USoA.

I didn't realize how bad some people hate needles. I know I don't like 'em, but once its over its over. One girl (who was actually possibly high at the moment, now that I think about it) started freaking out, had a melt down, and couldn't get the shot so she left.

My pregnant wife and my little girl got their's because they're considered "high risk". I'll get mine soon being in school all day.

I should be fine because "Elderly" are supposed to be low risk.

I'll probably get one when I get around to it

A friend of mine got pig aids (h1n1) it doesn't look fun

"all set" as if you got the shot or "F that"?

I'll take my chances with pigpox without a shot, considering i've already been exposed to it on multiple occasions.

I am all for the government offering the shot to people just not mandating it like I think Mass is attempting to do

I'm chosing not to get it. The vaccine hadn't been out very long. I mean I don't know what kind of time, and things go into a vaccine, but I too would rather take my chances.

I have 2 friends with toddlers that just had it, one with severe asthma, and he's great- the parents of the asthmatic swine flu kid contracted it- and they are fine as well.

Don't get me wrong, I'm scared of getting it, but I also don't want any underlying, long term reprocussions of a newly invented vaccine.

I'm passing on it, as well.

I carry and use alcohol gel, obsessively.

That, and I'm staying away from my weekly visit to the Pig Adoption Center & Grille.

Well I had H1N1, felt really bad for like 8hrs, went to the docter and got some meds and felt perfect after that. I still have a bit of a cough, but feel fine. I think people are blowing swine flu way out of proportion.

_Unconfirmed_ reports of H1N1 strain and Pneumonic Plague mixed together.

I cant find any official articles, but official numbers show around 1 million infected and 155 dead within the last 10 or so days.

All set as in eff that. I've been sick before. I'm not dead. Just because it came from pigs doesn't make it any different than any other flu ... there is a phage carrying DNA ... injects it into your cells ... your body fights it off. If it can't fight it off AND YOU DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO IT OR TAKE CARE OF IT, you die. Simple as that.

Only difference between this vaccine and seasonal flu vaccines is that they KNOW this strain is going around. The chances that the seasonal flu shot actually contains the strain that is going to go around relies upon how good of a guess those in control can come up with.

Once again ... I'm not dead.

Ehh, just spend 5 mins time a day around sick people for light exposure, eventually you will build an immunity on your own. (Joke, I wouldn't try this) But as the theory goes, the reason people get really sick from simple diseases these days is the overuse of antibiotics, antibiotic soaps and disinfectants. You need to allow your self some exposure, otherwise if you do catch it, you have no resistance at all. Actually, this theory is the basis for vaccination.
